Join the Great Lakes Funders Mapping Committee for a webinar reviewing the results of their annual effort to compile and analyze grant data to understand the latest trends in philanthropy in the Great Lakes region.
The 2023 data show that trends remained relatively consistent in terms of the grantmaking focused on each Great Lake, the issues, and strategies funders are focusing on through their grants. Beginning this year, GLF also started tracking a few new datapoints, including grant start/end dates and regrants. A few highlights from the analysis show that in 2023, participating funders reported:
- $75 million in Great Lakes funding, representing a 9 percent increase from 2022
- 18 funders awarded more than $1 million and represented about 92 percent of total grants
- $40 million in grants had an equity component
- $48 million in grants had a climate component
We’re hoping you’ll join to learn more about how you can use this information and data to inform your efforts in the Great Lakes.
